Slot Description
Razor Returns has made a handful of alterations in the game to come off as a proper sequel. The most evident change is visible in its grid layout of 5x5, which hosts 40 fixed paylines. Winnings are computed like before, with at least 3 matching symbols qualifying for payouts. While the original game kicked off the minimum bet with 0.25 coins, Razor Returns is more encompassing, with 0.10 coins as its minimum wagering amount.
There’s also a Push Bet option in the game, which increases your bet amount by 10%. Enabling this feature increases your chances of triggering the free games.
Symbols and Payouts
Once again, nine pay symbols comprise the game’s paytable, with low-pay symbols replaced by ship accessories. The high-paying sharks have undergone a sort of futuristic modification. Still, the Wild Shark symbol remains the most ferocious one, with a potential to offer 12.50x the stake on a five-of-a-kind line win.
This game features a mix of familiar and new symbols, including Mystery, Instant Prize, Multipliers, Collector, Nudge Up, Converter, and, of course, Scatter symbols.
Bonus Features
Razor Returns borrows a few elements from its predecessor but also adds several new features to make the gameplay more appealing, engaging, and potentially more lucrative.
Mystery Symbols
Mystery Symbols appear in a stack of 5 in the base game and during free spins. Upon landing, they trigger the Nudge & Reveal bonus feature.
Nudge & Reveal
Once on the reels, Mystery Symbols reveal either instant prizes, wild symbols, or Golden Shark symbols. If the revealed prize is instant pay symbols, wins are paid. Following that, with each spin, mystery stacks nudge down 1 position until they move out of the reels.
Razor Reveal
If the Mystery Symbols reveal Golden Sharks, the Razor Reveal feature gets triggered. In this feature, every Golden Shark position spins to reveal an instant prize, collector, multiplier, converter, nudge-up, or scatter symbols. The functionality of each symbol is as follows:
- Instant Prize: bet multipliers worth anywhere between 1x to 5,000x the bet amount
- Collector: collects values from all instant prize symbols and turns itself into an instant prize symbol. Meanwhile, positions of collected instant prize symbols become vacant and spin again.
- Multiplier: multiplies all instant pay and collector symbols on the reels by x2, x3, x5, or x10. Once multiplied, the multiplier symbols spin again.
- Converter: it spins through all the instant pay symbols on the reels. If one of the pay symbols hits, all instances of that symbol type on the reels convert to the Golden Shark symbols, triggering the Razor Reveal feature. After the feature plays out and the next spin round begins, converted symbols revert to their original pay denomination.
- Nudge Up: nudges the mystery stack up by 1 position. Only available during free spins.
- Scatter: if at least 3 of them show up, they trigger the free game feature
Free Games
Keep an eye on the Torpedo Scatter symbols since landing 3 or more of them triggers the Free Games feature. With 3 scatters, the free games start with x1 win multiplier; 4 scatters offer x5 win multiplier; and 5 scatters dish out a staggering x25 win multiplier. Free Games start with 2 Mystery Stacks on reels 2 and 4. With each nudge, mystery stacks nudge down 1 position and increase the win multiplier by +1. New mystery symbols can also land during this feature, thereby extending your free games session. The feature ends when no mystery symbols are in view.
Gamble Feature
Before you enter the free games, the Gamble feature gives you a choice to increase the win multiplier. Depending on how many scatters you get, the wedges in the Gamble feature will offer higher multipliers. Note that there will be empty wedges as well, which can also result in your free spins getting immediately forfeited. There’s also the option to avoid the Gamble feature: simply tap the Collect button, and you can move on to the free games with the multiplier you won from triggering scatters.
Bonus Buy
The bonus buy wedge in Razor Returns gives you instant access to several in-game features at a given cost:
- Free Games with 3 Torpedo Scatters costs 106x the stake
- Free Games with 4 Torpedo Scatters costs 186x the stake
- Free Games with 5 Torpedo Scatters costs 550x the stake
- Free Games with a Random number of scatters cost 200x the stake
- The Razor Reveal feature costs 500x the stake
- Keep note that the Bonus Buy feature is not accessible in some jurisdictions.
Payout Statistics
Razor Returns is full of sharp teeth, which makes sense, given the slot’s top prize is a gigantic 100,000x the stake. Although the game’s highly volatile math model barely lets you come anywhere near that towering sum. Yet, the slot offers tremendous potential, given the amount of features incorporated into it. Razor Returns RTP of 96.55% is also a pretty solid score, considering how high the stakes are. In one of our numerous playing sessions, we managed to rake in about 4,125x the stake, which is only a fraction of the rampage these sharks can unfold.
